Tonight was an amazing night. AMAZING! We have just been to see The Beatles LOVE at The Mirage. We also went to eat at Hell's Kitchen for dinner after the show, but since I was (gulp) less than impressed with the food there, I'm going to focus on the show. We walked through The Mirage, heart racing, making our way toward the entrance. We had to walk through the casino to get to the entrance, so our walk was filled with bells and cheers and loud, flashing lights. It definitely got us excited. As we neared the entrance, we could see other people waiting around as well. To the right was a gift shop of sorts. We didn't have time to browse before the show, so I mostly just peeked my head in as we walked past, making note of anything I might want to stop in for on the way out of the show. I was hoping the gift shop was geared toward the show memorabilia specifically, but it just looked to me to be Beatles memorabilia. I could get that anywhere, that wasn't very exciting. We kept walking toward to main entrance and let the attendant check out tickets, allowing us entrance into the main room. A photographer waiting asked if we wanted a photo in front of an enormous LOVE sign, but there was a long line both in front of us for it and behind us to get in, and knowing we were late already, we just shook our heads and continued on through to concessions. As we entered we heard the announcements saying the show would begin in ten minutes, so we decided to find our seats. The whole room was beautiful, it was still lit up so people could find their seats, but in a very dim blue that was very relaxing. They also had curtains down separating each section with different videos playing. Our seats were on the 2nd floor, front row.
All at once, the show began. One after another I watched as people swung from the ceiling, danced across the stage, all perfectly choreographed to Beatles songs I have sung my whole life. It was beautiful. I don't know how so many people manage to be on stage at the same time and not mix themselves up because at any given time there would 50 people up there running around jumping, dancing, swinging, and never once did they mess up. I never knew where to look: up at the ceiling where everyone was swinging or down on the ground where everyone was dancing. Then more people would come in from the left or right and switch places and it would all start over. This didn't even include the light show. While all the people are running back and forth putting on their own show, the lights are in sync with the music as well! As I stated before, the curtains have images and videos playing across them frequently. It was so overwhelmingly amazing, it is impossible to describe in words just what was happening at different points of the show....However, I will say at one point (and only because my head likes to be my own worst enemy) I did feel a bit overwhelmed with all the lights and looking in a million different directions all at once. I had to stare down into my lap for a good 10 minutes with my eyes shaded, just kind of listening along with the music, not watching the show. It will still always be one of the most amazing things I have ever been able to watch, I just needed a short break, that's all. I mean, nothing can ever compare to the Beatles, right?
